Our founder, Livia Portugal, has always been fascinated by the power of nature, with her grandfather passing on a secret recipe of natural remedies from their Brazilian indigenous heritage.
After moving to Australia in 2013, Livia fell in love with the beauty industry and became a Dermal Therapist and Skincare Specialist. In the past 10 years, she worked in some of the best celebrity clinics in Sydney and with big cosmeceutical brands, but noticed that many of her clients were transitioning to more natural skincare but not seeing the desired results. This led her to dive into natural cosmetic science and in 2020 she created Bossa Skin, a Smart Natural Skincare brand that delivers real results.
Liv is specialised in advanced skin treatments and only offers bespoke treatments at her results-driven skin spa on the Gold Coast, tailored entirely to your individual needs.
The brand draws inspiration from Liv's hometown, Rio de Janeiro, and her nostalgic recollections of a romantic Rio. Its name is derived from the renowned Brazilian music style, "Bossa Nova." In Brazil, "bossa" means something stylish and distinct from the ordinary, a new wave of rhythm.
